It was announced today (April 7th, 2010) that rock band, Aerosmith will be performing a live concert at Fenway Park in Boston, Massachusetts. If the band sells out (very likely) the first show, the band is expected to add a second date for the same weekend.
The first Aerosmith concert date is scheduled for Saturday, August 14th (time to be determined) and the second date will actually be the friday before (August 13th – time also to be determined).
The opening act for Aerosmith at Fenway Park will be the J. Geils Band. Both Aerosmith and the J. Geils Band are Boston bands and Aerosmith is dubbed the original Bad Boys of Boston.
Aerosmith is an international success and a fan favorite in New England / Boston. Naturally, Fenway Park is the hub of Boston. Everybody knows Fenway Park for it’s history, from the Red Sox, famous concerts and a local icon. Rich in History, Fenway Park has had some very well noted concerts including Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, Paul McCartney, Jimmy Buffett, the Dave Matthews Band, Phish and many more.
Elton John and Billy Joel origionally had a concert scheduled for Fenway Park but the event was cancelled for health reasons.
The Boston Red Sox will not be at home and what better way to put Fenway Park to use than an Aerosmith concert?
